BOOKING A SESSION
DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?
Yes, we operate by appointment only. This ensures a dedicated time for your family without feeling rushed.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO SCHEDULE?
Our advice to everyone is book early. During busy months sessions fill quickly! As a general rule, we recommend scheduling your session 2-3 weeks in advance. And 4-6 weeks during peak seasons.
WHEN CAN I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?
Sessions are available Wednesday - Friday and Select Saturdays. Call the studio for more information.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MILESTONE AND A CLASSIC SESSION?
The Milestone session is designed for those in between moments that you want to capture and when a full session may not be needed. Examples of great Milestone sessions include, dance/sport outfits, birthdays, or holiday cards. For families who want to try us out for the first time, the Milestone is a great way to experience what our studio has to offer. These sessions are fast, with a same-day ordering appointment with 8-15 images and are limited to one outfit/setup and immediate families up to 5 people.
The Classic session is a full session offering a longer time frame, multiple outfits/setups, and your choice of either same day or separate day ordering, choosing from 25-30 images. This session allows for various grouping options and customization. There is no limit to the number of people in this session, however, all parties need to be accounted for during your initial consult so that we can plan accordingly.
HOW LONG DO THE SESSIONS TAKE?
The Milestone session takes approximately 20-30 minutes, The Classic session takes approximately 30-40 minutes, Newborn & On-location sessions are usually 60-90 minutes. Our sessions are based on what we confidently capture rather than the time on the wall (a session with a child that smiles in every frame will go faster than one of a child with a wild spirit). We will photograph until we get what meets your needs.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE SESSION?
You are welcome to bring a few different outfits (usually two and a backup), snacks and/or bottles, and any accessory or prop that is important to your session.
Forgot Something? Our studio is stocked with a variety of items to help fix those “uh-oh” moments. From personal care (hairspray, safety-pins, etc) to baby (diapers, wipes, changing station) you’re welcome to anything we have available.
WHAT IF MY CHILDREN ARE "OFF" THAT DAY?
Raising kids can be tough… you get them on a schedule but the day you book a session is going to be the day… they get sick, start teething, miss a nap, played too hard or stayed up too late the night before…
We get it, that’s life! In most situations, we are confident we can work with your child to capture great images, however, if your child is just having a rough day, we will reschedule the session once at no charge in order to ensure you have total satisfaction with the images you receive.

CAN I ADD ADDITIONAL PEOPLE TO A SESSION?
The Milestone session includes any member of your immediate family up to five people. You are welcome to add additional family members for $25 each. The Classic session does not have a limit, however, all people need to be accounted for during your initial consult so that we can plan accordingly for your session. For the smoothest experience possible, it is best if the photographer is the one who provides the direction, so we recommend that only those being photographed (along with parents/legal guardians) be present at the session.
WHAT KIND OF PROPS DO YOU USE?
Reflections & Images is a low-prop studio. We have select props that we use at various development stages to help your child into certain poses, but are main goal is to photograph your family connection and the emotions you share.
WHAT IS AN ORDERING APPOINTMENT & WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
An Ordering Appointment is when you will view your images, select your favorites, and place your order. Depending on your session, your Ordering Appointment will either follow your photography session (about 15 minutes after your session on the same day) or it will be a scheduled separately within 3-5 days. Each Ordering Appointment, starts with a slideshow, then our creative staff will help you narrow your selections into your favorites. You will see approximately 8-15 images from a Milestone Session & 25-30 images from a Classic Session. A typical Ordering Appointment will last 30-45 minutes, so we have light refreshments and our Kid’s Corner to help distract your little ones.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE ORDERING APPOINTMENT?
Since you will be selecting and placing your order at this appointment, please have any decision makers available. If you know a place in your home, where you might want to display your portraits, bring the measurements and pictures of the space(s).
HOW MUCH SHOULD I EXPECT TO INVEST?
We specialize in creating custom art for your home. Your photographer can assist you in choosing from unique wall art, album collections, and other items to find the perfect fit for your family and lifestyle. General pricing can be found on our booking page. Product offerings start at $250.
DO YOU SELL DIGITAL FILES?
We believe print is the only “forever” medium. Only 10 years ago, we still had the floppy-disc (say what?!) and today many computers don’t have CD readers anymore. We are creating a “lost generation” through the lack of tangibility and fast-paced technology, so we firmly believe in assisting our clients in selecting and designing custom artwork. However, we also understand the importance of digital so for every printed product purchased from the studio, we have included the digital negative to go along with it. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I PLACE MY ORDER?
Once an order is placed, it goes through our art department for retouching and design work before being processed through our professional lab. Turn around time on most orders is approximately two weeks. You will be contacted by the studio to arrange a pick up time!
AFTER THE SESSION
HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY PORTRAITS?
Please try to keep your artwork away from direct exposure to sunlight or any ultraviolet rays (like fluorescent fixtures) as the this type of light can fade or deteriorate your portraits over time. To clean your portraits, use a dry cloth to remove dust and other foreign objects. Avoid the use of all cleaning chemicals.
WHAT DOES THE 100% STUDIO GUARANTEE COVER?
Reflections & Image was founded on creating high-quality products that remain lasting legacies in your family. We are selective in our suppliers & we back our products 100%. Should your portraits have any defects or anomalies, relating to the creation, handling, processing or quality of the product, we will replace them at no cost to you. Common defects that fit this category include: color shifts*, marks or damage from the creation process or post production errors.
What’s not included: Any defect or damage resulting from the client. Defects that might fit this category include: dropping them, sitting on them, putting your portraits on the roof of your car then driving off (yes, this has happened), leaving your portraits in a hot car, on a summer day in the middle of a drought for an extended period of time, leaving your portraits where your little one might use them as an art canvas with a sharpie (yes, this has happened too), leaving your portraits where your dog can get them… basically, leaving your portraits anywhere other than in a beautiful frame on your wall.
We know life happens & we work with our clients on a case by case basis to find a solution to individual situations. Should something happen to your beloved artwork, give us a call and we’ll see what we can do.
*It is recommended that all portrait products be kept out of direct sunlight. The UV coating that protects wall-art sized 11x14 & larger will prolong the life of your portrait but is not intended to block all UV rays. Mother Nature is a powerful lady, with current technologies, we can harness her effects but we can’t keep her out entirely. We will replace faded portraits at 100% for up to 5 years. After 5 years, we will replace at 50%.
